We wish you a very merry Christmas! Christmas is magical time throughout London and the city comes alive with all sorts of festivities. Two of the biggest and most spectacular events are the Oxford street lights and the Hyde park winter wonderland fair (both of which are dog friendly). Oxford street is very long, three miles to be exact, and the best place to see them is at Park House, near the marble arch.
We arrived once the sunset, with Coco in his wool sweater and cocooned in a blanket while I carried him (chihuahuas aren’t adapted to cold weather and us being from Florida it was extra hard on him). We started from the opposite end of Oxford street from the marble arch since the Hyde park winter wonderland was next to the marble arch. We enjoyed the twinkling lights and window Christmas displays as we walked along the street. Oxford street is one of Europe’s most famous and busiest shopping street, with more than 300 stores among Selfridges and Harrods.
After visiting the Oxford street lights we walked through the marble arch and were transported to a winter wonderland in Hyde Park. The fair was very exciting with it’s Christmas cheer, warming winter foods, mulled wines, German beers, rides, ice skating, and sculptures. We found a great little tented winter village in the park where we sat by the fire to warm up and enjoyed amazing mulled wines, mulled ciders, hot chocolate. We met many people, because Coco always demands attention, who said “Coco really knows how to live life.”
