Prague had been on my bucket list for a couple years after hearing people, mostly my cousin Nick, rave about amazing cheap beer, a fun culture, and the most beautiful architecture we will see. We decided we must go and are now staying in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, from March through the end of May
Before coming to Prague I didn’t know Easter was even celebrated in the Czech Republic being that most people here aren’t Christian and only 16% people, according to the Eurobarometer Poll, believe there is a God. I quickly learned that I was wrong and Prague “DOES” Easter, and they do it BIG, regardless of their religion status…
I loved these egg decorated trees we found all throughout the city. This one was found in the Old Town Square. Although we found Easter was celebrated all around the city, the Old Town Square is where to be for the best festive atmosphere.
If you bring your dog, he will be allowed into the Easter events. The Czech’s LOVE dogs and we brought our dog with us pretty much everywhere except grocery stores and museums. We found it to be second, only to Italy, as the most dog friendly country we have been to.

On top of the platform allows for a great view and photo opportunity to capture the beautiful architecture of Prague, and boy is it beautiful.
Easter Celebration starts in Mid March and continues until a week after Easter. Mid March was still pretty cold so we stayed bundled up. Chihuahuas are native to Mexico and aren’t adapted to the cold weather, so he always wears a wool sweater and I carry around a blanket for him.

The folk dancers, singers, and other acts were in the Old Town Square to entertain the audience everyday. The music is very lively and I loved the fun vibe of the crowd.

We came across this gorgeous view of another Easter market walking over the famous Charles Bridge. How beautiful are the brightly colored buildings with brick red shingled roofs. I’m in love!
Even random buildings were decorated in Easter baskets and hand decorated eggs.
The Easter flowers were in full bloom and didn’t disappoint with variety and color.
After a long dark winter in the UK it was nice to travel to a reawakening of nature in Prague’s Spring. I love that the blooming of Spring is also decorated in grand style in the Czech Republic. If you are thinking of visiting Prague I highly recommend visiting sometime around Easter. The Easter events were some of the best times we had while traveling and the weather was great for us this year.
