Dos aren’t allowed inside since they serve food but they have an amazing outdoor area right on the river where we would eat, drink, and bring our dog.

The official opening season for 2019 starts May 13, but they do have pop-up openings throughout the year. Check out their website for the opening dates and times.

We went during the winter and they had a nice warm patio covered area where we could grab a bite and drink with Coco with us.

In the warmer months the patio covering is removed and the opening times depend on the weather since seating is outside.

They brew many of there own beers and I really enjoy their ciders.

There is almost always other dogs in there (well behaved dogs are welcome). We once heard a group of guys walk in and say “what is this, a dog park?” We tend to go earlier in the day because they usually turn the music up louder at night.

This dog friendly dive bar is a neighborhood gem that has quickly become one of our favorites.

They give Coco dog treats and make us feel very welcome like we had been going there for years. Dogs get their own seat at the bar when it’s not crowded.

They have a huge selection of alcohol at very reasonable prices. Probably the biggest we have seen for a dive bar in Chicago.

Fun tiny dive bar. Another hidden gem in Lake View East. They have a big bucket of dog treats next to door when you walk in.

• Durkin’s Tavern

It’s a huge sports bar with two party rooms that possesses the oldest continuous beer licence in North Chicago.

The drinks are very inexpensive compared to the rest of Chicago.

The local dachshund was very sweet to Coco.
