Hyde park was a great quite green space for us to get away from all the noise and shades of grey from the city of London. Hyde park is the largest of the four royal parks in London. Not only does the park contain great walking and bike paths, it is also the location of Kensington Palace, which is home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (aka William and Kate) and the former notable residents Queen Anne and Princess Diana. Prince Harry and Meghan will live in Nottingham Cottage which is located on the Palace’s grounds (their wedding is May 19th 2018).
We walked from Buckingham Palace through Hyde park to get to Kensington palace, which was about 2 miles. We went during the beginning of winter while the leaves were still shades of orange and red and falling to the ground. Coco loved running through the leaves and kicking them up in the air when he got excited. Hyde park is a great place to bring your dog. Well behaved dogs get let off leash and run around freely clearly having a great time. There is a beautiful “sunken garden” right next to Kensington that was a great little spot for some rest and a picnic. Also next to the palace is a beautiful round pond filled with graceful Swans and is breathtaking at sunset! We easily spent a whole day walking through the park.
